Admission Process

All candidates have to appear for an online personal interview. They have to complete the assignment set during the interview.
The schedule for the interview will be communicated 1 week in advance to the applicants.
No prior studying is required for the test. Students will be tested on their knowledge of current happenings in society and the media.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50%.
Candidates appearing for their Semester VI examinations in summer 2025 can also apply, but their admission will be provisional and it will only be finalised on clearing Semester VI examinations and submitting the mark-sheets of Semester I- VI.

Preparation for the entrance test only requires an awareness of current events as reported by the media and issues concerning the media. This year, as a part of the admission process, you will be undergoing a Personal Interview and completing an assignment assigned to you at the time of the interview. The assignment and time required for the submission will be communicated to you at the time of the interview. Make sure you have some contact with media every day: Watch news, spend at least half an hour on a newspaper or a news source of your choice. Watch films, look at ads, TV shows, and web series and be prepared to talk about them.

Hostel facilities are only available for women. There are approximately 6 - 8 seats for Social Communications Media students in the women’s hostel. Selection for the hostel is not dependent only on academic performance or performance in the Entrance Tests. Several other aspects are taken into consideration. If you are anxious to join the Social Communications Media course and you do not get hostel accommodation please be prepared to make your own arrangements for accommodation.

Admission Process

Forms and Prospectus will be issued by the Polytechnic only after May and till the end of 1st week of June approximately.
Students are required to read the prospectus thoroughly. A separate admission form should be submitted for each course that is selected.
The results of the final selection will be displayed on the notice board.
Students are expected to pay their fees within 48 hours of the selection. Failing this, the seat will be given to another student.
The students must submit the following documents with their admission form:
Photocopy of the H.S.C. / Std. XII mark-sheet
Photocopy of School Leaving Certificate, or any other official certificate showing date of birth
Registration fee
2 photographs of the candidate (4 cms. x 5 cms.)

For Applied Art Course:

Students who have successfully completed the Foundation Course must submit the admission form after results are declared.
Admission is based on merit, determined by the Foundation Course result.
The Shortlisted students names will be displayed on the MSBAE website and further clarification they should visit the Institute

Textile Designing Course:

Successful completion of the Foundation Course affiliated with the Directorate of Art, Government of Maharashtra.
Admission is based on merit determined by the Foundation Course results
The Shortlisted students names will be displayed on the MSBAE website and further clarification they should visit the Institute
